15,000 people.
One film.
A ten-minute film made of 15,000 frames. Each frame lasts 40 milliseconds and belongs to a different person. One of them can be yours.
The film is a day
24 hours seen through 15,000 pairs of eyes, compressed into 10 minutes.
Frames are lined up by the time they were taken. The film starts at midnight and ends at midnight. Here you can see which hours are already full and which are waiting for someone.
How it works
Choose your minute
The timeline shows which minutes of the day still have room. Each has about ten places.
Pay with one tap
Apple Pay or Google Pay, no sign-up. One euro, one frame.
Photograph what you see
Not a selfie: whatever is in front of your eyes, in your minute. A plate, a street, a ceiling, the sea.
Get your timecode
The exact point where you appear in the film, to the 25th of a second. Yours, forever.

Manifesto
The film is an excuse.
On its own, a frame is invisible: it's shorter than a blink. On their own, many artists can't make a living. Together they become a movement. 40ms is a collective action: 15,000 people doing one thing together, meeting in the same room, and turning one euro each into paid work for people who make art.
Make it together
Nobody can make this film alone. Everyone brings 40 milliseconds of how they see the world, and the film only exists once everyone is in.
Come together
The film ends in a single live night. Everyone with a frame is invited: for once, the audience is also the author.
Pay for art
Not “for exposure”. The proceeds become real fees for artists, with open accounts. Art is work and should be treated that way.
The film in numbers
Where the money goes
Every euro funds more art.
To make art a job.
A declared fund
After fees, taxes and the cost of the film, the rest goes into a fund for art projects.
Artists get paid
The fund pays real fees: music, video, installations, exhibitions.
Open accounts
We publish income, costs and funded projects. Participants can propose and vote on projects.
Prices
One, three, or a whole minute.
Get them for yourself or as a gift. Whoever receives a gift chooses their own moment.
The gathering
When the last frame is sold, we meet.
One night in Northern Italy: the film screened live with an original score, the artists funded by the fund, and the people who made it. Everyone with a frame is invited. Then the film goes online, for everyone.
The end credits list all 15,000 names. Yes: the credits are longer than the film.
Rules
Only what you see. No selfies, no recognisable faces without consent.
Your photo, in your minute. Taken by you. Your phone records the time, we check it.
Every photo is looked at. If a photo doesn't work we tell you why. You can upload another or get a refund.
Questions
Do I have to shoot today?
No. Choose your minute, then shoot in that minute on any day within 30 days of purchase.
What if I never upload a photo?
Your frame stays in the film as a black frame, and your name stays in the credits. That's a way of being there too.
Can I change my mind?
Yes. You have 14 days to withdraw from the dedicated page and we refund everything.
Does my location end up online?
No. Your phone strips GPS location and all other metadata before sending the photo. We only read the time it was taken.
What if the film doesn't fill up?
The collection closes on 30 September 2027, or earlier if all 15,000 are sold. The film gets made anyway with the frames sold: it will just be a little shorter.
Can I come to the premiere?
Yes: everyone with a frame is invited. It's the moment the whole project exists for.
